Recreation Refund Policy
A refund for general recreation programs will be issued or placed on your account when a completed Refund Request Form is submitted 72 hours prior to the first class meeting and will be subjected to a 10% service charge. A prorated withdrawal refund will be issued in cases of illness or injury when accompanied by a doctor's note. Refund Request Forms are available at both the Lincoln Center and the Recreation Center facilities. Forms can be dropped off or faxed to either facility and will be processed based on the date received.

Age Criteria
Appropriate age levels are established by our staff of professionals to ensure a rewarding experience for all children. Children must meet the age requirements of a class within one week after the starting date of the class, with the exception of the preschool.
Participant Publicity Acknowledgement
Downers Grove Park District staff occasionally photographs or videotapes program participants or visitors for publicity purposes. Please be aware that these photos may be used in Park District publications the district's Web site or other promotions.
Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)
The Downers Grove Park District is committed to accessibility for individuals with disabilities and strives to provide equal, integrated participation in all programs, activities and services. The Park District’s policy is to reasonably accommodate all qualified program applicants in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). We welcome the questions, comments and concerns of interested community members regarding Park District ADA compliance. To arrange for auxiliary aids or accommodations enabling individuals with disabilities to participate in Park District public meetings, or to request publications in a special format (such as audiocassette or large print), contact the Park District’s ADA Coordinator Deborah Utecht by calling 630.963.1304 or by writing to 2455 Warrenville Road, Downers Grove, IL 60515.
Inclusive Recreation
In a continuing effort to meet the needs of residents with special needs, SEASPAR and the Downers Grove Park District provide inclusive recreation services. This means that individuals with disabilities are able to participate in programs offered by the Park District. This inclusive recreation environment provides residents with disabilities greater choices for their leisure and allows all residents to learn about one another as they participate together. Let the Park District and SEASPAR know of your special needs and interests so we can be prepared to provide you with appropriate services.
Safety
In the event of a serious accident or illness, it is the Park District’s policy to contact the fire department for emergency first aid and transportation to the hospital. Preschool-age children enrolled in Park District programs are not released from a class to anyone other than a parent or guardian unless advance written notification is given to the instructor.
Code of Conduct
To ensure an enjoyable and safe program for all participants, the Park District has developed the following behavior code. Participants must:
- Show respect to all participants and staff.
- Refrain from using foul language.
- Refrain from causing bodily harm.
- Show respect to equipment, supplies and facilities.
Additional rules are developed for specific programs as deemed necessary by the staff.
Discipline
The Park District applies a caring, positive approach to discipline. Rules are reviewed with participants and staff is willing to work with parents to develop behavior modification programs as necessary. The Park District reserves the right to dismiss a participant whose behavior creates an unsafe environment.
Insurance
The Park District carries no medical insurance and assumes no liability for personal injuries or loss of personal property while attending Park District activities. A participant’s policy must cover any medical cost incurred.
Smoking
The use of tobacco products shall be prohibited within all indoor Park District buildings, outdoors and within 15 feet of an entrance. The use of tobacco products shall be prohibited within the fenced area (field and spectator areas) at the Doerhoefer Park synthetic field and all other areas specifically posted. Out of courtesy to others, please refrain from smoking within 50 feet of athletic fields and spectator areas.

Fee Waiver Policy
Local community not-for-profit groups, organizations or individuals may request waivers of facility rental fees at Lincoln Center for activities that support the community at large and the Downers Grove Park District mission. Fee waivers will be considered only when facility space is available; all Park District programs have priority. Excluded from consideration are: groups whose request for contributions are tied directly to religious and/or politically directed missions; outside community groups whose activities do not parallel the Park District’s mission; and general club meetings that are held monthly.
