Extraordinary Adventures Ahead with Summer Camp

Brace yourselves for an extraordinary summer of fun and excitement at Downers Grove Park District! As the temperature rises, so does the anticipation for a season packed with thrilling adventures and unforgettable memories that promise to last a lifetime. Downers Grove residents are invited to secure their spot in the summer excitement by registering for camps starting at 9:00 am on Monday, March 11. Non-resident registration opens at 9:00 am the following Monday, March 18. “We are thrilled to offer an array of camps that cater to every age group, ensuring a summer filled with joy, learning, and exploration,” says Dave Haring, Director of Recreation for Downers Grove Park District. “Our commitment to providing top-notch programs continues to make Downers Grove a go-to destination for summer adventures.”
Among the highlights are Adventure Camps for kids entering grades Kindergarten to 5, promising a full-day immersion into traditional fun with games, sports, swimming, field trips, crafts, and team-building activities. For children pre-k to 5th grade, nature camps at Lyman Woods explore the wonders of the great outdoors through half- or full-day adventures, featuring scientific discoveries, bug hunts, animal encounters, and nature exploration.
For children entering grades 6 to 8 seeking interactive experiences, Teen Trekkers embark on a whirlwind tour around Chicago suburbs, while Teen Wilderness Explorers provide an opportunity to give back to the environment on thrilling trips to natural areas across the region.
Even the tiniest adventurers aged 2 to 5 can join the excitement with Pee Wee Camp, Exploration Station, Safety Town, or specialty camps. Young athletes can kick it into high gear with action-packed sport camps covering golf, baseball, basketball, flag football, floor hockey, soccer, dodgeball, volleyball, and lacrosse.
Unleash creativity and curiosity with unique specialty camps in science, robotics, cooking, and cultural arts. Explore history at museum camps hosted at the Downers Grove Museum.
